The project site covers approximately 6 km² within the Lelatema Fold Belt in the Mererani region of northern Tanzania, part of the East African Graphite Belt and the broader Mozambique Belt geological system. This belt is globally renowned for its high-grade metamorphic rocks enriched with graphite, as well as for hosting world-famous gemstones such as tanzanite and tsavorite. Tanzanite, mined here for more than four decades at depths of 1 to 1.5 km, underscores the significant mineralization of the area. Several deposits within the belt have already confirmed large- to jumbo-flake graphite with grades ranging from 6% to 12% TGC, and the concession’s geology is dominated by graphitic schists and gneisses, indicating strong potential for high-quality flake graphite mineralization. With rising global demand for critical minerals used in EV batteries, energy storage systems, and advanced industrial applications, the site is strategically positioned to contribute to Tanzania’s growth as a leading graphite supply hub.
The project site offers excellent logistical connectivity to domestic and international transport networks, located just 35 to 40 kilometers from Kilimanjaro International Airport for convenient access to personnel and light cargo. It is also well linked by paved highways to major international ports, ensuring reliable export channels in all seasons to the global markets. This strategic location, combined with robust infrastructure, enhances the project’s commercial viability for graphite mining, processing, and global supply. Importantly, the project will be powered entirely by green energy, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability
